Faces of Ortus: Meet Claire

We’ve got another new face that we’re chuffed to introduce you to at Ortus... Claire Bowes joined our PPC team earlier in the month as our new PPC Manager and, in true newbie fashion, we’ve thrown her in the deep end with a q&a so you can learn a little more about her…

How have your first few weeks at Ortus been?

So good! I’ve been made to feel very welcome, and I’m really enjoying getting to grips with all things Ortus!

What’s the main focus for your new role here?

I’ve joined Ortus as a PPC Manager, so my job is to manage client accounts to help them hit their targets and more. Paid Search is constantly evolving so it’s important to keep up with the latest strategies and pass this onto our clients so they are one step ahead of the competition, and that’s something Ortus pride themselves on, so it’s great to be part of such a forward thinking team.



Tell us a little bit about your background in PPC.

Coming from a financial background, I understand the importance of KPI’s, revenue and ROAS, therefore, being able to channel this into PPC has been a fantastic step in my career.  I have 5 years PPC experience, starting out as a complete newbie then progressing to where I am today.  I’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing clients along the way, so I’m excited to see what the future of PPC holds!

 

What do you love most about paid search?

The positive impact it has for clients, not just in terms of conversions but the exposure it gives them across multiple platforms.


If you could manage accounts for any brand, who would it be?

No brand in particular, but I do love working with clients who have a healthy budget, that way we are able to test more and really maximise any growth potential!



POV: You’re off work. What would we find you doing? Be honest.

Either exploring our local forestry with my family, or if it’s a day to myself then I’d book a nice little pamper treatment for some relaxation.



Just for fun, 3 things you refuse to live without?

Skincare, downtime and family!

  • I once went to a celebrity New Years Eve party in Miami.
  • In secondary school, I was the East Cleveland high jump champion.
  • I am a qualified nail technician.


Back to the serious ones, what are you most looking forward to with your new role?

Where do I start?!  I’m looking forward to working alongside industry experts, being part of a highly successful agency and progressing within my career thanks to the unrivalled training and development that is available to me.


Any predictions for PPC in 2022?

Automation, automation, automation!  The move from Smart campaigns to Performance Max campaigns just goes to show how committed Google are when it comes to driving the best results from automation and algorithms, so for those who aren’t, it’s time to get on board!
